So, it’s the middle of September and I’m eagerly driving along in the sunshine ready to produce some wedding photography Tythe Barn in Launton. I’d been to this wedding venue before to shoot another bride and grooms big day many years ago, and I was looking forward to a new assignment in the sun – the UK had provided us with another scorcher!

WEDDING IMAGES AT TYTHE BARN

I got to work as I usually do, snapping the bouquets (which were beautifully arranged by Julie Anna Flowers) and other details, while the Bridesmaids enjoyed champagne – the celebrations were already underway!

It wasn’t long until the guests began to arrive. Hannah and Lewis had chosen me to take the images of their wedding after seeing the pictures I took at her brother’s wedding. Daryl and Jessica had their day in Northamptonshire. I was looking forward to seeing them again as they had a beautiful day of which I really enjoyed being a part of.

After the congregation had been seated, it was time for the ceremony. The weather was simply beautiful. Hannah and Lewis just couldn’t have picked a better day to say their vows! The registrar got proceedings underway and within twenty-five minutes we had a new Mr and Mrs!

Drinks, canapés, and congratulations ensued – we had an hour and a half until friends and family would be taking their seats for the wedding breakfast, so I got to work! I’m a documentary photographer at heart, so I took my time to capture all the moments being enjoyed.

With all three speeches expertly executed and wedding breakfast consumed, it was time for one of my favorite wedding bands to take centre stage! “The Money” are actually playing at my sister’s wedding this year and they are excellent at what they do! An hour after the dancing began, (which was a lot of fun to photograph as you may be able to see!), it was time for me to make my exit. What a day it had been!

Thank you to Lewis and Hannah for inviting me to document your day. I hope you have a great life together!

“We can’t watch the slideshow without crying!!! The photos are beautiful, thank you so much for capturing our day so perfectly!”

MORE INFORMATION ON THE TYTHE BARN LAUNTON

The Tythe Barn is a natural wonder, situated in beautiful Bicester, Oxfordshire. From the outside, it may appear to be three separate, rustic and traditional buildings, but upon deeper exploration you will find that the three available inside spaces form an incredible pathway between each other, blending perfectly into a set of halls designed to cater for every wedding style and size. The fourth and most amazing piece to this rustic jigsaw puzzle is the stunning rural surroundings. Step outside The Tythe Barn at any time of day and you will be blown away by the views and amazing natural light that seems to centre in on the venue.

Exposed wood, natural stone floors, and incredible beams are a constant reminder of the venue’s charming history – dating back to the late 1300’s. The thatched roof of the Main Barn is a unique and rare feature of Tythe Barn, and provides a wondrous backdrop to your photographs, capturing the rustic atmosphere in all its glory. Tythe Barn is still a working farm, and the team revels in sharing their knowledge and family heritage with guests. There is also an opportunity to erect a marquee in the grounds if an outdoor wedding is what you are looking for, allowing a higher capacity of guests
.
Essentially, I would describe the Tythe Barn as a blank canvas upon which you can create the wedding of your dreams. The team takes care of your every wish, allowing you to make the personal touches that really make your special day YOURS. The venue boasts a whole host of indoor and outdoor snapshots of its history, with traditional archways, trellises, gardens and rustic beams. In terms of lighting, the choice is yours. The venue has everything from floodlights to fairy lights, giving you control not only on how your guests view the space but also on how each of your wedding photos will look.

A RUSTIC WEDDING VENUE

However, it’s not all rustic and traditional. The inside spaces at Tythe Barn offer under-floor heating and a variety of coloured lighting to match your theme. There is also a wonderful array of extras available for you and your guests, including a specially designed Bridal Suite, outdoor paddocks and private gardens, an old chapel, and even a helicopter landing site! The Bridal Suite, situated in the secluded Nook, works in harmony with the feel of the venue while also offering all the indulgences that the Bride expects on her wedding day – under-floor heating, a huge array of mirrors and an iPod dock allow the Bride and her Bridesmaids to relax in a space that feels as close to home as possible while also providing the excitement and luxury of a top hotel stay.

Capacity at the Tythe Barn ranges from an intimate day of 40 guests to a magnificent 220 guest reception, giving you the freedom to invite as many or as little friends and family as you wish. The venues on-site catering team will guide you in designing the perfect wedding breakfast for your guests, delivering the highest quality produce so that you don’t need to worry about a thing. The Cowshed space even offers the option of the built-in pizza oven, providing you with the choice of offering pizza to your guests as the party continues into the night.

The Tythe Barn is only a short walk from the local 12th-century church, giving you the option to hold the wedding of your dreams and return to Tythe Barn for your champagne reception. The walk back to the venue gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the gardens, viewing the venue from a whole new angle and allowing them to revel in the beautiful space which you have selected.

The idea of a barn wedding is growing in popularity every year with new barns popping up all over the country, and Tythe Barn is still one of the very best.
