It’s been a couple of years since I’ve had the pleasure of producing wedding photography Caswell House. The last two I was invited to photograph had outdoor ceremonies in the grounds there. Honestly, if you weren’t aware that you were in Oxfordshire, you’d think that you were at a destination wedding in Italy!

NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY CASWELL HOUSE

Our bride and groom for this classy affair were Laura and Jonno. They had chosen to say their vows in a church service at St Mary’s in Bampton, famous for being one of the locations where they film Downton Abbey. It’s a special place fit for a special day.

The service commenced and I was really pleased to capture some beautiful candid moments throughout which suited my reportage style. There was an abundance of joy in the room and it was great to be a part of it!

My cameras and I we’re ready to take the journey back to the reception, but not before we had stopped off for a pre-arranged photo shoot along the route. I don’t often stop at locations for photographs, particularly when you have a wonderful venue to work with like Caswell House, but the fields were too beautiful to miss out on. It produced some of my fave shots from the day!

The rest of the day was just as happy, with funny and emotional speeches, and a packed dance floor as the sun went down. The guests and the happy couple were clearly ready to party after the first dance concluded!

A HAPPY FUN FILLED DAY

If you’re looking for a Northamptonshire wedding photographer, or a photographer in any other location, then please get in touch. I’d love to chat to you about your big day!

Here’s what Jonno and Laura had to say…

“Thanks so much for the beautiful collection of photos. We are blown away by all the wonderful moments captured and will treasure every memory!”

Watching the sunset over a Cotswold wedding is one of life’s true delights, and with quaint villages, local pubs and a plethora of country walks, the Cotswolds is a destination designed for romance. But take yourself away from the beaten track for a moment and you may be lucky enough to run into Caswell House, a 15th century manor house which has been spectacularly converted into one of the UK’s most coveted wedding venues.

Though set apart from the footpaths and local pubs, Caswell House offers fantastic views over the Oxfordshire countryside, providing memorable scenes for your guests – and for your wedding album.

A COTSWOLD WEDDING VENUE

Old-style country homes have been growing in popularity with regards to weddings for the past few years, and yet Caswell House still manages to stand out from the crowd. Its medieval barns stand tall against the stunning backdrop, with original flagstone flooring and oak beams bringing the rustic country vibes inside. Despite its old feel and traditional structure, the barns at Caswell House have all been renovated, so you can rest assured you and your guests will enjoy maximum comfort with under floor heating, luxury accommodation for a select group, and mood lighting that has been specially designed to light your wedding perfectly.

Step outside into the grounds and enjoy photos in the orchard, next to the walled gardens and extensive lawns that ensure plenty of space for your guests while still maintaining an element of privacy and wonder for those special moments of your day.

A beautiful moat surrounds the house and its grounds, and many couples find themselves enjoying their first stroll as a married couple over the various bridges that stretch across the estate. With so many photo opportunities throughout the interior and exteriors of Caswell House, no two wedding albums will be the same and you can share your day knowing it was unique and designed for you.

 A PHOTOGRAPHERS DREAM LOCATION

For the ceremony itself, your guests will enjoy all the comforts of a modern venue, with all the charm of a medieval celebration. The uncovered stone walls create a cosy atmosphere while the large windows open the room up to a brilliant natural light – and provide a unique view of the sunset over the Cotswolds as the day draws to a close. Alternatively, you can opt to wed your loved one outside under the venue’s stone archway, which dates back to the 16th century and has remained untouched since then. The perfect frame for the gardens which lie beyond, start your journey as a married couple surrounded by nature and all of your family, and watch your guests enjoy the wonders that our landscaped gardens and sweeping lawns have to offer.

Caswell House is a country manor house with a difference. Far from many other remote and cold stone buildings that are dotted around the UK, Caswell House has embraced its history and tradition while modernising just enough to remain desirable for today. A coveted venue with spectacular views and luxury amenities for all its guests, Caswell House provides the perfect backdrop to your special day.
