It’s not too often that I travel to the coast for weddings. Living in Northampton, I’m about as land-locked as you can get! So I was happy when Jenna and Matt contacted me about their Bournemouth Beach wedding photography! Despite it being a February wedding, we all hoped for great weather!

Well, we received that great weather! Blue skies and sun for the whole day! Although I have produced Bournemouth wedding photography before, I don’t know the area well. So I stayed in a hotel the night before and took the opportunity to have a walk around Bournemouth Town Hall. It was this registry office where our bride and groom were to tie the knot. I gave myself an idea of where the best photo opportunities were and familiarised myself with how to get there and where to park!

On the big day, surrounded by their friends and family at their intimate wedding ceremony, Jenna and Matt said their vows and became husband and wife. We moved outside for family photographs on the lawn and I captured some documentary photography as all the wedding guests chatted to each other. After the confetti had been thrown it was time to make our way to a Bournemouth beach for the next stage of what was a truly special day.

Avon beach is an ideal setting for wedding photographs. you certainly don’t have to go far to find a beautiful photo opportunity! However, although we had great weather, it was winter so it was cold! Despite being chilly Jenna was great and we managed to grab some amazing beach wedding photography. The drinks reception was held in the Noisy Lobster which is a restaurant on the sea front. Guests enjoyed Champagne the stunning sea views. It was a perfect place to end what had been the perfect wedding day.
